Its time to Spring into Armadale!

August 17, 2018

After weeks of rain, it's lovely to have the sun shining this weekend in #PerthHillsArmadale, perfect to enjoy an outdoor picnic! Swap the clamour of the city for the gentle chatter of tall timber forests and native birdsong. 📷 @offthebeatentrackwa . . . . . #perthhillsarmadale #perthtodo #experienceperthhills #perthgram #visitarmadale #perthhills #justanotherdayinwa #natureplay #nativewildlife #thisiswa #springintoarmadale #greatoutdoors #outdoorexplorer #westernaustralia #naturelovers #bushwalking #australianwildlife #seeaustralia_wa #perthfoodies #nativeflowers

It may be August, but the season-long festival Spring into Armadale has begun in the Perth Hills Armadale region.   It showcases the best of the region against a backdrop of the majestic Darling Range and rolling countryside that I grew up in!  That's the reason I'm taking such pride in sharing the events on offer with you over coming weeks.  Here's a look at 5 things to inspire you to take a short journey outside this weekend.  If you do, be sure to let me know, by posting photos to Perthling on Facebook or using #perthhillsarmadale in your photos & posts on Twitter or Instagram.  I'd love to share your beautiful experiences & images of the Perth-Hills Armadale with Perth and the rest of the world!

There are plenty of attractions within an easy walk of your park or the train station in the Armadale CBD.

1. Pick up a map for the Rediscover Armadale Walking Urban Art Trail & other public artworks from the Perth Hills Armadale Vistor's Centre

2.  See 145,000 Tulips in Full Bloom for It's Yates Springtime at Araluen Festival.

ABP-Spring-Festival-18-A4-poster.jpg

Come to the Park to discover Perth’s biggest display of Tulips and other Springtime bulbs.

Couple of tips from me:  This is one of the most popular events on the Spring into Armadale Calendar, so Traffic Management in place on weekends.

Araluen Botanic Park and Canning Dam is only accessible via Croyden Road off Brookton Highway.

Gardiner Road will be closed due to Traffic Management.

From Araluen Botanic Park to Redtail Lane is one-way traffic.

And be sure to bring cash if you'd like to take advantage of the delicious food vendors who turn out and offer their wares during the festival!  FOMO (fear of missing out) is a terrific motivator here.

Fancy something sweet and a nice refreshing cider? Well, @nakedapplecider has you sorted 🙌 They're open today until 10 pm (and Sat & Sun) It's a great place to relax and unwind with friends and family and take in the beautiful #PerthHillsArmadale 📷 @nakedapplecider . . . . . #seeperth #perthtodo #experienceperthhills #perthlife #perthgram #perthisok #justanotherdayinwa #thisiswa #springintoarmadale #whatsonperth #perth #pertheats #perthfoodies #perthfood #nakedapplecider

3.  Find your inner Culture Lover with a Real Theater-Restaurant Experience.

Faulty Towers the Dining Experience comes to Ye Olde Narrogin Inne, Albany Highway and South Western Highway Armadale.

Basil, Sybil and Manuel serve a 3-course meal along with plenty of laughs and audience participation in this 5-star immersive show - a show that’s never the same twice, because it’s 70% improvised.

It’s great for comedy and theater fans, as well as anyone who just fancies going out for an unforgettable meal and a hugely good time.

This true blend of ingenious comedy and unique theatrical script is a multi-sensory treat where chaos reigns right from the start.

Have you made plans for the weekend yet? Why not visit some friendly faces at @cohuno_koala_park 🐨 They are open from 10 am - 4 pm every day. Hand feed many of the free-roaming animals. Have a chat with over 30 talking parrots, see dingoes, kangaroos, emus, deer and koalas! 📷 @leesie136 . . . . . #perthhillsarmadale #seeperth #perthtodo #experienceperthhills #perthlife #perthgram #perthisok #visitarmadale #justanotherdayinwa #natureplay #thisiswa #waparkswildlife #springintoarmadale #greatoutdoors #nativewildlife #whatsonperth #outdoorexplorer #westernaustralia #perth #naturelovers #soperth #perthkids #seeaustralia_wa #australianwildlife #armadale #cohunukoalapark
